In
1980, Dr. Sid Pion and the late Dr. Jack Korsower founded Community
Radiology in Olney, Maryland. The practice soon expanded with offices
in Bethesda, Germantown and Silver Spring, Maryland. In 1988, Community
Radiology partnered with Montgomery General Hospital to open Montgomery
Community Magnetic Imaging Center (MCMIC). In 1999, MCMIC was awarded
a three-year term of accreditation in MRI as a result of a rigorous
evaluation by the American College of Radiology (ACR). MCMIC is
one of only five MRI facilities accredited in the state of Maryland
and the only accredited outpatient center in Montgomery County.
All
of Community Radiologys thirteen physician members are board-certified
in diagnostic radiology. Community Radiology has advanced patient
care by building a practice with radiologists who have extensive
experience in such areas as ultrasound, CT, MRI, abdominal imaging,
angiography and interventional radiology. Our physicians also provide
consultative services to Montgomery General Hospital in Olney, Maryland.
We
serve our patients and their families from modern, attractive imaging
centers providing a full range of diagnostic services including
MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, radiography, ultrasonography, mammography,
bone densitometry and nuclear medicine. Currently, Community Radiology
operates nine imaging centers located throughout Montgomery and
Prince Georges counties.
